1 Peter 3:10-11 “For “He that would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking guile; let him turn away from evil and do right; let him seek peace and pursue it.”
Have you ever been frustrated with someone? Have you ever been picked on and treated poorly? At these moments have you felt anger boil up and have caught yourself falling into sin with your tongue?
We all have, we all fall short. The moment after we have sinned this way we feel worse than before. What is the answer to this? I do know the times I have held back my tongue I have recognized God’s grace in my life. When I feel weak in these moments I ask God for his help and his strength to rise above this temptation of sin. We are called to be imitators of Christ, are we not? In these situations when I have done the right thing there always is a peace that follows. The more we work on being imitators I know God will Bless us.
I pray that you would give each of us the strength to rise above our temptations. Please give us the grace to be imitators of you. Help us to love each other and to build each other up, instead of tearing each other down. Amen.
