2 Corinthians 4:8-11
“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For while we live we are always being given up to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.”
Life is hard, trials can be burdensome. We can crash and hit the ground. When we are hurt it is easy to focus on our own pain and have the “poor me” or “what about me” attitude. But is that right? Is this not sin to reflect on ourselves, could it be Idolatry?
We need to turn that around and focus on Jesus, not ourselves. If we are being hurt over and over again we need to pray for the person who is hurting us. No one said it would be easy, but with God all things are possible. If you have allowed anger, stress, and frustration to knock you down, do the opposite and get back up. Ask for God’s grace and start anew. Keep your eye’s on the prize that awaits you in Heaven.
Please forgive us for focusing on ourselves and not on you. Jesus you are all loving, and forgiving. Give us the strength to do what is right. Help us to be better examples of you and to know that we can do all things cause you dwell in our hearts. You are our strength and we need you. Amen.
