He is Hope

Isaiah 9:6 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Hope is the word that comes to my mind when I ponder Christ’s birth. He is the answer to restoring our brokenness and filling us with peace that only comes from knowing him. I have to honestly say that Christmas was a holiday that left me feeling  sad, empty, and depressed in the past. Having not had a family home or parents of my own to be with it caused deep sadness within me. Now I can say that Christmas gives me Hope. Hope that has restored my broken heart and gave me a deep love for the Prince of Peace, my Everlasting Father.

Dear Jesus,

I thank you for all you have done in my life. I pray for all those who suffer with sadness and emptiness over the holidays. May they find the true meaning of Christmas and turn to you to fill them with hope and love. Amen.
