John 16:22 “ So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.”
Have you fallen into despair, self pity and anger at times? Has the environment around you at work, home or in personal relationships caused you anxiety? I’m guessing many would answer “YES”. We all have fallen down at times in these situations but have you got back up? Were you able to stand and trust in Jesus to take the lead in your struggles?
I felt this way many times and anxiety would suffocate my emotions. Headaches, and aches and pains in my body accompanied my mental torments. The truth is I was not allowing Jesus to carry my burdens. What I was saying to him was “ I do not trust you.”
We need to look closely at ourselves and be real with what is underneath and triggering the response of these emotions. Constant hurts in our lives from others can play a huge part in having trust issues and we need to keep handing over our burdens to the Lord. Step by tiny step hand him your worries, cares and frustrations. Be real with him and speak from your heart when you have trouble trusting and soon you will find the burdens lifting as your trust in him increases.
I pray for all who struggle in trusting you. I know you can see into their heart and the areas affecting mistrust in your love for them. I pray for healing in all our lives. Amen.
